I didn’t spend 21 years on active duty in the United States Navy to give any elected official the right to take away my constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech, freedom of the press, the pursuit of happiness, or any other that is mine by virtue of my citizenship. And that includes George Bush. This piece is how I view Mr. Bush’s policies, as they pertain to the Patriot Act and its invasion on the privacies and constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of the citizens of the United States of America. I seem to remember another ruler named “George” who despised the rights of others, and we declared our country’s independence from him in 1776. Maybe we should do the same thing with King George the Bush. |
