"At the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, the designated Free Speech Zone was a chain-link enclosure which demonstrators dubbed “the Cage.” Friends of mine protested outside while I attended the convention as a delegate. At the close of the convention, I went to “the Cage” site and picked up litter from the ground, which I brought home and assembled into a collage. I then cut the collage into pieces which I scanned into my computer to create this cleaner (and fresher-scented) 2-D version."
